Keetle is a kettle boil-timer for iPhone. We built it to respect your privacy: Keetle has no user accounts, no servers of our own, no analytics or tracking code, and no advertising. This policy explains the limited data the app handles and why.
Your kettles, boil history, tea presets and settings are stored only on your device (via Apple's on-device database) and in your own device/iCloud backups. We never receive, see, or store this information. Deleting the app removes it.
With your permission, Keetle uses your approximate location to estimate tap-water and room temperature from local weather, which makes the boil-time estimate more accurate. Weather is provided by Apple Weather (WeatherKit); location-based weather requests are handled by Apple under Apple's privacy terms. We do not store, log, or share your location. Location is optional — you can deny or revoke it in iOS Settings, and the app still works with a default estimate.
When you scan a kettle, Keetle reads the camera image on your device to find its barcode, or the wattage and capacity printed on its label, and looks the model up in a catalog built into the app. The captured frame is shown to you on the confirmation screen and then discarded: it is not saved to your photos or anywhere else, and it never leaves your device. The camera is optional — you can pick a kettle from the catalog or type in its numbers instead.
Keetle's notifications are local notifications, scheduled on your device: alerts for your boil, cool-down and steep timer, and an occasional reminder to come back after some time away (at most one a day; the series stops as soon as you open the app). There are no push servers, so nothing leaves your device to deliver them. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings → Keetle → Notifications.
Using Keetle from Siri, the Shortcuts app, widgets or Control Center runs on your device. Siri requests are processed by Apple under Apple's privacy terms; we receive nothing.
Keetle Premium is sold through the Apple App Store, as a subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple; we receive only your entitlement status (whether Premium is active) — never your name, card, or payment details.
After a finished boil, Keetle may ask whether you enjoy it. If you choose to rate it, the App Store opens and your rating or review goes to Apple under Apple's terms. What the app remembers about asking stays on your device.
Keetle contains no crash-reporting or analytics code, and its internal logs stay on your device. If you have turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple shares crash reports and usage statistics with app developers, including us, in a form that does not identify you. That sharing is Apple's, collected under Apple's privacy policy, and you can turn it off in the same place at any time.
No other third parties receive your data. Bundled open-source components (fonts and animations) collect nothing.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with anyone. There is nothing to sell — your data stays on your device.
Keetle is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Because your data lives on your device, you are in control: revoke location or camera access and turn off notifications in iOS Settings at any time, and delete all app data by removing the app. Manage or cancel a subscription in the App Store (Settings → your name → Subscriptions).
